Can you lay carpet over pergo.

All the web sources say if you put down a vapor barrier first pergo is ok. Floating floors are not attached to the subfloor in any way but merely sit on top of it. I have installed pergo or similar type products in many rooms of my home. And then lay the carpet.

To break it down here are the main reasons you need underlayment. Have never had any issues this would be my first attempt at putting it over an existing pergo floor.
